Double Apple watt pottery was introduced between 1959 and 1962.  Everyone believes the real name of this pattern is Crab Apple rather than Double Apple.  For some reason, many pieces of Double Apple have a gritty or sandy feeling to them and appear to have dark specks in the glaze.
