Through the years some people have reproduced a variety of the mold patterns to simulate the originals.  The sure giveaway with many of the reproductions is the color of the pottery or clay.

The original clay the company used was found right in the Crooksville, Ohio area and was a deep cream color.  When mixed with 15 per cent feldspar and whiteners the clay did not discolor after firing in the kilns.  Thus began a line of lovely beautiful pottery that is so collectible today.  The Rooster number 15  has widely been produced.
